National Association of Child Care Resource & Referral Agencies (NACCRRA)

NACCRRA can help pay for child care costs and also help families with the application process that will connect them to the funding that can relieve the financial burden of child care, especially during deployment. For assistance, call NACCRRA at 1-800-424-2246.

OMCC provides child care fee assistance for National Guard and Reserve, Active Duty Army, Marine Corps, Navy and Air Force who are activated or deployed and whose children are enrolled into non-DoD licensed child care programs.

MCCYN supports military families with the cost of high-quality child care outside military installations.

Am I eligible?
Active Duty (Army, Marine Corps, Navy and Air Force) military families are eligible. Active Duty National Guard (AGR) serving under Title 10 or Title 32, United States Code (U.S.C) military families are also eligible.

How will it help me?
MCCYN helps to locate high-quality child care while a non-military spouse is working or attending school. It helps by providing a subsidy for 60 days while a non-military spouse is looking for work. The following are programs that the DoD considers high-quality:
  • National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC)
  • National Accreditation Commission (NAC)
  • National Early Childhool Program Accreditation (NECPA)
  • Accredited child care centers Council on Accreditation Care (NAFCC)
  • Accredited family child care home Child Development Associate (CDA)
  • Credentialed FCC provider

NACCCRA and the Department of the Army have partnered to provide families of severely injured military members with assistance to find and pay for safe, licensed child care services for a period of six month during their period of recuperation. Extensions beyond the 6-month period will be considered based upon physician reassessment. The program is available nationwide wherever the injured member is receiving either in-patient or out-patient medical care.

Am I eligible?
Any regular active duty military member injured and receiving medical treatment on either an in-patient or out-patient basis who is in need of child care services is eligible for this subsidy.

How will it help me?
NACCRRA will coordinate with state and local Child Care Resource and Referral agencies to help military families located child care in the civilian community when a military program is unavailable. This will allow the spouse to be at the bedside or to help with outpatient medical appointments. NACCRRA and the Department of the Army will provide an offset to the civilian child care fees during the recovery period.
